DDZY1088C(S) Single-phase Prepayment Multi-tariff Energy Meter is a new-generation of intelligent kWh measuring product developed by Shenzhen Hexcell Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. It is used to realize the function of the energy measurement with prepayment for households.

The meters comply with the standard of:

- IEC62053-21 class 1.0 and class 2.0 static AC active energy meter

- National GB/T 18460.3-2001 IC prepayment system part 3: prepayment energy meter,

- DL/T645-1997 multi-function energy meter communication protocol


Adopt high-efficiency CPU to realize AC active energy measurement. The CPU real-time sample the energy pulse and save it to nonvolatile storage. The meter can be read via RS485 or Infrared. The prepayment function is realized via IC Card.

5.1 Energy Measurement

Record current forward active total energy, and reverse active energy also recorded into active total energy.

5.2 Events Record

The meter can record the tamper times, the accumulative time of tamper, cover-open times, illegal card inserting times, trip times, etc. All events can be checked or uploaded by User Card or Infrared or RS485 port.

5.3 Monitor Function

5.3.1  Alarm Function

When the amount (Currency) in the meter is less than Alarm Threshold 1, the alarm LED keeps light. If the relay was tripped, the relay LED keeps light.

When the amount (CURRENCY) in the meter is less than Alarm Threshold 2, the meter will cut off the power supply by relay automatically, press button or insert the user card could recover the power supply.

When the residual amount (CURRENCY) is zero (0), the relay will trip, if the system didn’t provide overdraft function, the user can’t use energy any longer and have to go to vending station to recharge the user card. But if the system provides overdraft function, press button or insert card to continue use electricity. The overdraft limit could be set in the prepayment management system.

5.3.2  Overdraft Function

When the amount (CURRENCY) in the meter is zero (0), if overdraft function is allowed, the user could continue use energy by inserting user card or pressing button. When the overdrafts exceed the limit, the relay will trip to cut off the power supply. The users have to buy energy from the vending station, and deduct the amount of overdrafts from residual amount. 

5.3.3  Multi-tariff Function

The meters adopt stepped tariff, the system can divide one year to be Four (04) time intervals, each time interval has one set of tariff table, while each tariff table could have Four (04) steps.

5.3.4  Over Load Function

The meters adapt to the time sharing load control, one day could divide to Four (04) time interval, and each time interval could set a Load Threshold, there are two load threshold numbers. If the meter is in friendly time period, it will use the load threshold of friendly period.

When the load of energy consumption exceeds the load threshold, the relay will trip. The users could pressing button after reduce the load to recover the power supply. The load threshold could be set by prepayment management system. 

5.3.5  Friendly Credit

The meter can set the non-power-off period, holidays and weekends. When the residual amount and overdraft amount were used out, the energy used in the friendly credit period will turn to be tick amount, the threshold could be set by the prepayment management software via user card.

5.3.6  Daily Fixed Charge

The meter will deduct the daily fixed charge at 0 o’clock per day. When power off, meter will record the time of power off, if the time is less than 72hours, it will deduct the fixed charge per day. But if the time is more than 72hours, meter will not collect the daily fixed charge during the power off period.

5.3.7  Clock Function

With the calendar, automatic conversion timing and leap year, the meter has hardware Clock.

5.3.8  Sound Alarm

Insert card, overload and the emergency power consumption event could spark the sound alarm. The 

Duration and time interval of alarm could be programmed.

5.3.9  Demand

The meter could record the maximum demand of each month and occurred date and time.

5.4.2  Display Method

There are four ways for display: power on display, scroll display,key-pressing display and. The LCD will enter whole display after power-on, and enter into scroll display 

after Three (03) seconds. The interval between each display item is Five (05) seconds. When pressing the key for Three (03) seconds, the meter is switched to display mode selection and the user could press button to switch display mode, “disp 1” is scroll display, “disp 2” is key-pressing display, it will adopt selected display mode after Three (03) seconds.

In key-pressing display mode, if user doesn’t press button within Five (05) seconds, the meter will be switched to scroll display automatically.

In card-inserting display mode, when the LCD finishes the display items, the meter will be switched to scroll display.

When inserting the card, the LCD displays ‘C’. The LCD will display ‘SUCC’ after successful card reading, or display ‘Err’ with corresponding error code.
