HX1088 concentrator owns advantages of simple measurement, simple installation and simple operation. But to avoid personal injury and other products related to the concentrator, it is suggested that this manual should be carefully read, which is better for usage before being installed, detected, operated and used.
While the designing and producing of HX1088 concentrator, its solidity and reliability and customers’ safety and convenience have been already fully considered. Thus common faulty operations can be endured. If the concentrator is reasonably and safely installed and used according to the guideline, its lifespan will be extended. This product could only be used within its provisions; Shenzhen CLOU Electronics Co., Ltd. has no responsibility for the damage and personal injury caused by faulty operations, operation and the usage beyond the specific range.

In each chapter of this manual, different letter symbols and graphic symbols which are adopted to express the danger according to different levels of danger will be explained. Please pay attention!

•Don’t immerse the concentrator in water and any chemical substance and don’t use any chemical substance to clean the concentrator.
•Displays are all examples in this manual, which may have some difference from the real data in meters.
•Since it is life-threatening to touch live components, the power must be cut off before installation and replacement.
•Please obey local safety rules; Installation and replacing of concentrator only could be done by qualified person with specified technology.
•When installing concentrator, pay attention to concentrator’s safety; Appearance damaged or fell downed concentrators are not allowed to install.
•Washing the concentrator by water is not allowed.
HX1088 concentrator adopts the most advanced technology of micro-electronics, computer chip, modern communication technology, supporting and using advanced GPRS public wireless communication network technology, which is an important part to achieve Demand Side Management modernization, also is the terminal supporting product for the power low-voltage AMR system. It cooperates with power low-voltage AMR master station to realize auto meter-reading, instrument equipment monitoring and anti-tamper function etc.. It is a high utility value product in power sales automation system.
1.2.System Features
●Adopting high-speed 32-bit ARM and Linux OS; 
●Well performance of terminal EMC, able to withstand high-voltage peak pulse /strong magnetic field/strong static/lightning surge interference, and strong self-adaptive capacity against temperature;
●Supporting “Power User Consumption Data Acquisition System Communication Protocol: Protocol of Communication between Master Station and Collecting Terminal” issued by State Grid Corporation of China(Q/GDW 376.1-2009)for communication with master station, also supporting TCP/UDP/SMS transmission mode;
●Communication with meter supporting international and domestic protocols for common meters of DL/T645-1997/2007 (Industrial Protocol), CLOU, WASION, HND, Fujian Standard, ABB, Red Phase EDMI, Landisgyr/Siemens B/d and so on; for terminal also supporting meter access of no less than 2 protocols, in addition supporting master station remotely upgrading terminal meter protocol library.

●Wide-voltage range design enabling higher reliability and more adaptive to working environment.

●Sealed design, ABS waterproof fire-retardant materials, wall-mounted structure, small volume and easy installation.
2.Main Technical Specification
3.1.Data Acquisition
3.1.1.Meter Data Acquisition
As per the specified concentrator meter-reading day or scheduled acquisition time interval, the concentrator can have meter data collected, stored and sent to master station at master station’s reading command; the data recorded by concentrator and that displayed on meter connected must be consistent.
3.1.2.State Variable Acquisition
Terminal real-time acquires switch position state and other state information, and record in memory when terminal position alteration happens, and send signal to master station when it searches at the latest time or terminal automatically reports to master station.
3.1.3.Data Acquisition Modes
The ways of data acquisition as follows:
A)Real-time acquisition: Concentrator directly acquires all types of realtime or frozen energy data, parameters and record data from collector or energy meter.
B)Timing automatic acquisition: Automatically acquire energy data according to acquisition cycle set by master station.
C)Automatically supplementary meter-reading: With the function of supplement reading, if it fails to read data in pre-set time of period, then it will create record data and report to master station. 
3.2.Data Management and Storage
3.2.1.Real-time Data and Current Data
The concentrator can collect realtime data and current data, as per data source the data includes:
1)Concentrator data
Concentrator calendar clock, parameter state; uplink communication state; current value in event counter; event tag state; current day/month communication flow of concentrator and master station; concentrator AMR state information.
2)Meter data
Current forward/reverse active energy reading value (total, each tariff); current active MD and time stamp; present current and voltage; meter calendar clock, operating status word and variable tag; remote control state and record; remote control operating times and time; parameter modification times and time; prepayment information.
3.2.2.Historical Day Data
The concentrator stores the data at the end of the day (00:00 of next day) as various historical day data, it can store those data of last 32 days, and data content covers the following as per data source type:
1)Concentrator data
Concentrator day power supply time, total day reset times, communication flow between concentrator and master station.
2)Meter data
Day active MD and time stamp; day forward/reverse active energy reading value (total and each tariff);
Meter-reading day active MD and time stamp; meter-reading day forward active energy reading value (total and each tariff); meter-reading day forward reactive energy reading value; forward/reverse active total energy reading value curve; voltage/current curve.
3.2.3.Historical Month Data
The concentrator stores the data at the end of the month (00:00 1st each month) as various historical month data, it can store those data of last 12 months, and data content covers the following as per data source type:
1)Terminal data
Monthly voltage beyond limit stat. data.
2)Meter data
Monthly active MD and time stamp; monthly forward/reverse active energy reading value (total and each tariff).
3)Concentrator data
Concentrator monthly power supply time, monthly total reset times; monthly communication flow between concentrator and master station.
The concentrator memory capacity is 64M, able to connect with 192 single-phase remote tariff control meter. The concentrator can store the following data in different classifications: (00:00 of next day) frozen energy data of 31 days, frozen energy data of 12 monthly meter-reading days, 254 frozen hour energy data.
3.2.4.Meter Running State Monitoring (optional)
The concentrator can monitor meter running state which includes: meter parameters change, meter time difference, meter fault information, meter reading declining etc; records time and abnormal data as per event recording requirement.
3.3.Parameter Configuration and Query
3.3.1.Clock Reading and Time-calibration
The concentrator can receive clock testing and time calibration command from master station, time calibration error<5s. The concentrator reading error<1s with 24h. When powered off, the clock can maintain its work.  The concentrator can calibrate clock time by broadcasting against meter in system via local communication channel.
3.3.2.Concentrator Parameters
The concentrator can set and inquiry the following parameters remotely from master station or locally by HHU:
Concentrator file
Concentrator communication parameters like master station communication address (including master channel and standby channel), communication protocol, IP address, ringing times and communication route etc.
3.3.3.Meter-reading Parameter
Concentrator can set and inquiry by master station the parameters like concentrator collection cycle, meter-reading time and collection data item etc.
3.4.Event Log
The concentrator monitors meter running state. when meter parameters change or clock difference or meter fault etc. present, it can record event time and abnormal data as per requirements of event recording. For main events recorded, please find Table 2.

3.5.Data Transfer
Concentrator can communicate with master station, receive and respond the command from master station and send data to master station
3.6.Local Functions
The concentrator is equipped with local maintenance interface, supports HHU to set parameters and read field energy data, and it has protection measures like permission and password management etc. to prevent unauthorized operation.
By keeping pushing programming button on concentrator for more than 2sec, or by IR/adjustment interface, send specific command frame to concentrator, and concentrator can send specific information to master station.
The concentrator has indicators including power supply indicator, alarm indicator, meter-reading indicator to indicate the local state of concentrator; the power supply indicator is green, lit means power up, off means power off; alarm indicator is red, lit means alarm present, off means no alarm; meter-reading indicator is double colored in red and green, red means sending data, green means receiving data.
3.7.Terminal Maintenance
3.7.1.Self-check and Abnormal Record 
Concentrator can automatically self-check, and find abnormal event logging equipment (including communication) and alarming function, besides it can record daily restoration times.
After concentrator receives the order of initialization from master station, it will respectively initialize hardware/parameter area/data area. Parameter area is set to default value, data area is reset and control is cancelled. 
3.7.3.Remote Software Upgrading
Concentrator supports the master station to realize remote online software download upgrading, and supports the transmission resuming at break points, but does not support SMS communication upgrading.
4.Operating Principle Summary
HX1088 Low-voltage Concentrator adopts excellent-performance CPU with high-speed 32-bit ARM processor, and records all data and have them stored in FLASH; through advanced public wireless technology of GPRS/CDMA to realize that master station could read real-time data and historical data, besides set related concentrator parameters.

6.1.Installation explanation
Fix and install concentrator in the measurement cabinet, determine the  concentrator voltage, current, connection mode (see the nameplate label) according to terminal type, and connect wires of voltage and current terminals. Open concentrator front panel; insert the SIM card which has been launched with GPRS service and the charging battery of concentrator, and power on after checking the wiring.
6.2.Set Addresses of Master Station and Concentrator
Preparing: with the configuration software/specialized maintenance handheld device to set parameter through infrared mode. Concentrator is equipped with password protection for each channel, and when setting the security verification is required.
Infrared mode: set serial port parameters: the baud rate is 2400, data digit is 8, no parity, stop bit is 1 bit.
6.2.1.Local Upgrading
1)USB upgrading
Open concentrator face panel cover, there is a USB interface on the left of communication module in terminal. USB upgrading procedure goes as follows:
a)Keep pushing programming button for 30s and concentrator enters into upgrading mode;
b)Copy the program required for upgrading in USB flash disk;
c)Insert the USB flash disk in USB interface of concentrator, the terminal completes upgrading and reset.
After the upgrading, find out if software version in concentrator parameters in the fourth row displayed on concentrator is updated to confirm the program is upgraded successfully.
2)Downloading by 485
a)When master station communicates with terminal, send upgrading command through RS485. Under the extended menu, upgrade command is sent through RS485: baud rate 115200, no parity.
b)After sending command, disconnect IR connection of terminal and re-connect 485 connections. Baud rate 115200, connect to the last channel 485 counted from left to right.
c)Enter file upgrading menu.
d)Select the needed upgrading file under source directory and send command of starting download. Terminal enters the SFTP download mode.
Note: When upgrading, the terminal address must be correct, if not the default address of 11223344, such as 11227788 upgrades, change it to the correct address to download.
3)Remote upgrading
Concentrator can remotely upgrade program file.
1.Under the extended command menu, send upgrading command through GPRS mode as follows. Set master station IP address and serial port No. to enter into set upgrading mode.
2.Concentrator normally receives upgrading command and automatically reset. Access front-end device (FPC) remotely by GPRS, and enter upgrading mode.

6.3.Button Operation, Indicator and LCD Display Explanation
6.3.1.Button Operation
The terminal adopts one-key operation, easy to handle.
Keep pushing button for 5s, open programming switch, the concentrator can set parameters by IR or HHU with 2min.
Keep pushing button for 30s, it is available to upgrade concentrator program by USB.
Power supply indicator-power up indicator, green; lit at power up and off at power off.
Alarm indicator-red; lit in alarm event and off in case of no alarm. In condition of failed to read meter, the alarm indicator is lit and meanwhile measured point of meter-reading failure will be displayed.
Meter-reading indicator (485_1~485_3)-double colored in red and green, red blinking means sending data and green blinking means receiving data.
Module indicator (details are subject to the actual module):

6.3.3.LCD Display Explanation
1)Terminal main interface display as follows:
Menu interface includes:
a)Top display status bar 
Display fixed parameters (not include display scrolling) such as communication mode, concentrator date and clock etc.

b)Main display screen 
Scroll display page, scroll display content of 2nd row and 3rd row: last 10 events records, scroll display time interval is 6s.
4th row display content: concentrator parameters (e.g. master station address and port etc.)
In case of meter reading failure, the alarm indicator shall be lit, the concentrator shall not only display the measured point of meter-reading failure, but also related property No. of that measured point.
The terminal is required for regular maintenance. Check clock battery voltage is normal or not, if it is used for long time causes low voltage, please change the batteries. 
1)Must strictly follow the signs indicated connection the voltage.
2)During installation, the terminals should be tightened, and hang terminal tightly on a strong fire-resistant and uneasy to vibration screen. It should be installed vertically, height 1.8m is appropriate.
3)The terminal before leaving the factory, has an external battery removed, end-users should install the battery into concentrator before on-site installation. 
4)The terminal isn’t provided SIM card, when users need to use GPRS function, contact to the local GPRS network operators and buy the appropriate SIM card and activate the GPRS communication. 
5)The cover should be sealed after the connection, is proposed to seal the terminal of transparent cover. 
6)The terminal should be stored at temperatures of -25 ~55 ℃, relative humidity is less than 85%, and should be placed under the original packaging, stacking height of not more than 5 levels. Terminal should be opened from the packaging.
