DDS1088 Single Phase PLC Split Keypad Prepayment Meter owns advantages of simple measurement, simple installation and simple operation. But to avoid personal injury and other products related to the meter, it is suggested that this manual should be carefully read, which is better for usage before being installed, detected, operated and used.
While the designing and producing of DDS1088 Single Phase PLC Split Keypad Prepayment Meter, its solidity and reliability and users’ safety and convenience have been already fully considered. Thus common faulty operations can be endured. If the meter is reasonably and safely installed and used according to the guideline, its lifespan will be extended. This product could only be used within its provisions; SHENZHEN HEXCELL ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY.,LTD. has no responsibility for the damage and personal injury caused by faulty operations, operation and the usage beyond the specific range.

Displays are all examples in this manual, which may have some difference from the real data in meters.

When installing meter, pay attention to meter’s safety; Appearance damaged or fell downed meters are not allowed to install.
Washing the meter by water is not allowed.
The Hexcell Standard applies to production and test in Hexcell Electronics, not the standard for client test or acceptance. Only IEC standards apply to the client inspection and acceptance.

1)Hexcell single-phase PLC meter based on digital media information exchange medium, it features include active measurement, high precision clock, load switch control, moreover can also reading data from the PLC, the near infrared, RS485 and set parameters
1.3 Main Functions
1)R measure active power forward and reverse respectively, measuring the total active power (forward and reverse)
2) event log including: power, open front cover, open terminal cover, reverse, magnetic field, the unbalanced load, over voltage, low voltage, programming records, time corrected record and remote pull switch, etc.
3)Tariffs: 4 tariffs, Monday to Sunday 7 ordinary day time, 16 holiday period, 16 special holiday time, can be divided into eight period one day.
4)Contains hours freezing (24 hours), frozen (62 days) and freeze power in previous 12 months
5)Remote switching function
6)Load profile: load profile for 30 minutes, frozen data (time + live wire power + null wire power load profile)

Within this range, the meter will show no damage; it will indicate normally, but it’s not guaranteed that the accuracy class as well as load control equipment’s normal operation. 2.1.8 Meter Active Check Output
The meter is equipped with special pulse indicator for testing active energy (LED is on the nameplate of meter). In order to ensure the accuracy of active measuring test, according to different current test points, pulse quantity collected from test should be incremented with the increase of current, and reasonably select pulses between the numbers 1~8.

2.2 Meter Operating Principle Diagram
This MCU circuit consists of measurement and control circuit modules centralized with SOC single chip (with internal measurement module, realtime clock and temperature testing compensation circuit etc.), memory circuit module composed of memory chip, PLC communication circuit module, power supply circuit module, cover open detection module, LCD display, audio reminding user information display module, RS485 module, IR emission and IR receiving circuit module etc. the current sampling uses measurement method of CT sampling, while voltage sampling uses dividing resistance network, and meter adjustment is completed via software.

3.3 Meter Wiring Diagram
All movable terminals of meter locate in the connection terminal cover with secured screws fitted with user seal to prevent from operations such as unauthorized connection or other settings, etc.
3.4 Meter Protective Class
The test is carried out with the prepayment energy meter manufactured by Hexcell in accordance with IEC60529-4. Test result meet IP54.
3.5 Resistance to Heat and Fire
Resistance to heat and fire class: V0 (all the casing made out of heat-resistant and fire-retardant material)
4 Meter Function Lists
4.1 Active Energy Metering

4.4 Event log
1)Previous power off records  
Meters will record in recent 50 times meters power off time and power on time
Total power off times.
2)programming records 
Through PC or AMI system parameter setting the meters, meter will record the parameters setting of 50 times recently time setting and the corresponding parameters of coding
3)Time calibration records
Via a PC or AMI system date and time set electricity meter, electricity meter records the occurred  time of recently 50 times.
4)Open terminal cover records
When open the end cover (electricity and power on record), electric meter records recently 50 times cover opening time, the total number of the terminal cover opening times.
Switch on the terminal cover, the relay  action can be set by PC and AMI system, which is divided into two modes:
Mode 01: Opened the terminal cover but not switch off the relay , record events and alarm
Mode 02: Opened the terminal cover switch off the relay, record events and alarm, can through the button and a PC or AMI system switching

5)Open front cover  records 
When opening the front cover (records both power on and power off), electric meter records recently 50 times cover opening time, the total number of the terminal cover opening times.
6)Unbalance load records 
When the live line and null line current differential surpassed the threshold (do not judge when the live wire and null wire current is less than 200 mA), if duration is more than 8 s, electric meter records recently 50 times of unbalanced load time and total number.
The threshold the default value is: 10%, can be set by PC software
7)reverse current records
When working current is greater than 200 ma and reversed, the duration keep more than 8 s, meter will record the occurrence of reverse time and the total number
8)Overvoltage records
When the meter voltage higher than the over voltage setting threshold, duration keep more than 8 s, meter will record the occurrence of reverse time and the total number
9)Low voltage records
When meters set threshold voltage is lower than the low voltage, duration keep more than 8 s, meter will record the occurrence of reverse time and the total number of  occurred;
10)Over load records
When the meter’s active power is higher than the overload threshold value (the default is 13.8 kW), the duration keep more than 8 s, meter will record the occurrence of reverse time and the number of total occurred;
Overload threshold value the default value is: 13.8 kW, can be set by PC software,
Overload occurs, the action of relay can be set, three modes can be set up:
Mode 01: When overload occurs, record events and alarm, relay disconnect, can switch on through the button or PC software.
Mode 02: When overload occurs, record events and alarm, no action on relay;
Mode 03: When overload occurs, record events and alarm, relay disconnect, relay switch on automatically after 5 minutes.

11) Remote switch on\off records 
Remote switch on, will record 50 times of time and times of recently sent a switch command.
Remote switch off, will record 50 times of time and times of recently sent a switch command.
12) Neutral missing records
When meters occurred neutral missing tamper  for more than 20 s, the starting current is greater than 2.5 A, meters keep working and record in recent 50 times neutral missing time and the total times.
4.5 Tariff and Time Section
1) automatic switch and leap year calendar, etc

3) Ordinary day time zone table. 7 time zone table of Monday to Sunday. The meter will auto switch follow week table.
Can be set through the PC software, and  the format as below:

Can be set through the PC software, and  the format as below:

5)Special holiday time zone table: total 16 tariff time zone. The meter will auto switch follow the date setting.

4.6 Frozen Function
1)Hours frozen:  
frozen period: Frozen one time per hour.
frozen times: 24 times per 24 hours.
Freeze Frame Data: total power and T1~T4 power.  Total postive power and T1 ~ T4 positive electricity, reverse total power and T1 ~ T4 reverse power.
2)Day frozen:  
frozen period: Frozen per day 00:00.
frozen times: 62 times per 2 month
Freeze Frame Data: total power and T1~T4 power.  Total postive power and T1 ~ T4 positive electricity, reverse total power and T1 ~ T4 reverse power.

4.9.3 Display mode
1)Divided into Scroll Display and Buttons Display two modes.
2)scroll Display: Default state is scroll  display mode.
Each screen time can be set(Default time is 10 seconds),display items and order can be set by PC.
In the scroll display mode, When the relay is disconnected,it will display”Err-10”,when Neutral missing, it will display”Err-11”,In does not exist under the condition of the above two kinds of state,when the alarm event in meter error code,the screen will always display error code,Through press the button can query the normal display.

4.1 Alarm function 
1) Alarm Mode:
Alarm mode is divided into two kinds:(can be set by PC software)
Mode 1:The event alarm, end when the event end .
Mode 2:The event alarm, no clear warning mark at the end of the event, need to read through the PC software copy can only be cleared after the event log.(2)ncluding:Trip,terminal cover opening,2-Meter Cover Open,Reverse,Load unbalance,over voltage,under voltage,overload,magnetic ,Neutral missing)

5 Meter Installation Instruction
5.1 Cautions on Operation
The installation and commission operator of energy meter must be technically qualified as below: 
1)Trained with relevant technical training.
Be familiar with and comply with safety regulations, strictly comply with specific regulation of safety.
Please see if the required materials and tools are all prepared before starting operation (see 4.2 “Tools and Materials required”).
5.2 Tools and Materials Required
The following tools and materials are necessary for installing the meter:
1)The energy meter preset correctly (already opened an account) and sealed well.
Customers’ information chart of energy meter.
Screws to fix energy meter.
Seal and seal tools provided by the Utility.
Slotted screwdriver and cross screwdriver which are used to secure screw.
Drilling tools (if it is needed) and multi-meter.

5.4 Cautions on Installation
1)Before wiring, please carefully check the connection diagram on meter case and confirm the phase line, and neutral line (ground wire) consistent with connection diagram. It is better to use copper wire and copper contact to connect to meter.
If the cable is old, operator shall cut the end of cable to ensure the new exposed wire end is about 15mm long to be used to connect; if cable diameter is between 3mm and 6.5mm, directly connect to inside of terminal and make sure it secured; if cable diameter is less than 3mm, then it is necessary to use a suitable size copper or aluminum bushing to clamp cable end so as to avoid loose contact of connection resulting in terminal burnout.
During wire-connection, firstly loosen each screw on each terminal, then insert In-phase line into end of connection aperture and the in-neutral line into end of connection aperture, fully tighten screws of terminals. Similarly insert Out-phase line into end of connection aperture. Tighten screws of terminals fully and make them secured.
Power on energy meter to test the working condition, if energy meter works normally, record readings of meter. Otherwise, please carefully test condition of installation and connection and working voltage.
Be gentle with the energy meter so as to avoid dropping and collision during whole installation processes.
When installing energy meter, please be careful with operation and power usage safety so as to avoid accident.
6.Transport and Storage
1)The product shall be transported and stored according to the related rules. No intense impact to the product is allowable during transportation and unpacking.
The product shall be stored in a clean place where the ventilation is good, the ambient temperature is -25℃~70℃, and the relative humidity is not more than 75%, and make sure no corrosive gas or harmful material present and the natural ventilation is good.
The product shall be stored on shelf in a warehouse and the stacking height shall not be more than 8 layers.
7.Warranty
The manufacturer warrants its products against defective parts and workmanship and will repair or (at its option) replace, free of charge, any meter which is or may become defective under proper operation with all seals in good condition within the warranty period specified in contract from date of sales.
8.Troubleshooting
The meter features self-test. If the following information is found on the LCD, or the self-test information displayed on LCD is abnormal (e.g. character missing or character incomplete etc.), contact the manufacturer for advice.
